It is a voluntary car scheme for older, frail and disabled people for shopping, medical and hospital appointments, visits to day centres and dentists, opticians, etc.
We are used for appointments for out patients rather than emergencies. Give us as much notice as possible to arrange a driver, ideally 48 hours. To cover our volunteer drivers’ expenses there is a charge of 60p per mile plus any car park charges (charge starts from the driver’s home).
Telephone lines will be open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Trips can be booked 14 days in advance and the more notice you can give, the more likely your journey will be accepted.
